Wedgies usually do involve underwear for hoopers. It’s not the traditional type of wedgie.(That’s a sentence I never thought I’d write.)
Hooping wedgies means putting the hoop between your legs and flipping it up over your body, waist, or hands. Watch this video here to see what I mean.
Anyway, the point is, this is what Katie taught last night in class! I did get that hoop up a few times, and I was very happy with myself.
One thing I noticed for myself is that I am going to be needed a smaller and lighter hoop very soon. My HDPE hoop is light enough, but it’s hard to do fast tricks with because of its large diameter. It was really hard to do the wedgie with it. When I borrowed Katie’s smaller and lighter hoop, no problem. Hmmm. I think I’m going to be on the market to get a polypro hoop in the near future.
We also worked on body rolls and Katie helped me clean up mine quite a bit. I have a habit of not straightening my arms and whacking myself in the face with the hoop (Reminder: get glasses adjusted). The times I remembered to keep my arms straight, ta da! I did the body roll!
Oh, and I did the mandala/around the sun trick without turning! Woot!
It was a great class yesterday. You need to come!
